The open-air Volksplat market in the historic district, is a popular Maifest attraction.

Volksplatz Space Assignments

Maifest Volksplatz vendors will be assigned booth space in one of three areas:

  1. Vendors who are able to demonstrate their art or craft will be assigned space at Fourth and Schiller streets.
    • Vendors in this area are required to dress in costume appropriate to the festival.
  2. Food vendors will be assigned space near the beer and wine tent on Third Street.
    • Food booths may be inspected during the festival. Contact the Gasconade County Health Department, 573-486-3129, for a copy of health regulations.
  3. All other vendors will be assigned space on Schiller Street between First and Third streets.
    • Costumes are not required at this location.

Fees

The cost of one 10 foot x 10 foot space is $50. Additional spaces may be reserved for $45 each.

Hours

Volksplatz hous are Saturday, 9:00 to 5:00, and Sunday, 9:00 to 4:00.

Set-up

Vendors may begin setting up their booths Friday evening after 6:00 p.m., the time when streets will be closed to traffic. Vendors will receive their license and tax package on site Saturday morning. Displays may not be dismantled until after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

  4. Check or money order, payable to the Maifest Council
  5. Self-addressed stamped envelope

Space assignments will be mailed to vendors on April 25, 2008. If your vendor application is not accepted, your payment will be returned.
