Oktoberfest is held the first four weekends of October and has become a fall tradition for thousands of people. Each weekend there are special activities around town, held amid the spectacular fall colors of Missouri's most beautiful town. Here is what the editors had to say about Oktoberfest: "There's no better way to get to know a town or region than to attend one of the many festivals around the state. Perhaps the best reflection of a town's heritage is the Oktoberfest held in Hermann. Attend this event and you will be eating sauerkraut with the most German of Missourians."  —Rural Missouri Magazine
