Norton Wines Take Center Stage January 12 and 13

Missouri’s premier native grape variety will be showcased January 12 and 13 when seven Hermann-area wineries host the Hermann Norton Wine Trail.
"Norton wines from Missouri have been winning gold medals at international competitions since before Prohibition," says Patty Held-Uthlaut of Stone Hill Winery. "Some of our Norton vines are more than a century old."
From 10:00 to 5:00 on Saturday and 11:00 to 5:00 on Sunday, Wine Trail visitors will travel a 20-mile route that meanders along the Missouri River between Hermann and New Haven. Along the way, vintners will share their expertise along with their finest red wines.
- Adam Puchta Winery—Norton and Chocolate Bleu, the best of both worlds
- Bias Winery—Norton Coming of Age, comparison tasting of a young Norton aging in the barrel and an oak-aged bottled Norton
- Bommarito Winery—Barrel tasting of Norton with asiago cheese
- Hermannhof Winery—Norton’s Structure and Acidity, the perfect food wine paired with rich cheeses
- Oak Glenn Winery—The Nuances of Norton, Norton tasting with smoked pork
- Robller Winery—Tasting of Norton and dark chocolate
- Stone Hill Winery—Does Terroir Make a Difference in Missouri Norton Tasting of 2005 Nortons from two Stone Hill vineyards, paired with dark chocolate pomegranates and pepper encrusted roast beef.
